Information regarding health checkups

Important Notices Regarding Student Regular Health Check-ups

  1. If you have not undergone the regular student health check-up, a health certificate cannot be issued. All students must undergo the check-up during the implementation period.
  2. You can visit us at any time during reception hours during the implementation period.
  3. On the day of the examination, please prepare clothes that are easy to remove. Please wear a T-shirt, tank top, and thin underwear (without metal parts).
  4. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, please bring them with you for your eyesight test.
  5. There are target grades for the hearing test (target grades: 3rd and 4th year university students, 2nd year Osaka Sangyo University Graduate School students) and color vision test (target grades only: 3rd and 4th year Osaka Sangyo University Graduate School students, 2nd year graduate students). The color vision test is optional only for target grades (any findings will be noted on the health certificate).
  6. The re-examination items will be a urine test and a chest X-ray, and will be conducted on campus at a later date. Only students who are eligible will be notified by mail of the re-examination. Please check your mail and make sure to take the re-examination.
  7. Health certificates will be issued by the automatic certificate issuing machines around mid-May (the issuing date will be announced later).
  8. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Health Service Center (1st floor, Building 16).

Get a health check! (Published on March 25, 2025)

The university will be conducting the 2025 regular student health checkups for four days from Tuesday, April 8th to Friday, April 11th. Please refer to the table below for the examination dates and times.
A health checkup is an opportunity to check your health status and prevent or detect diseases early.
It does not provide a definitive diagnosis of disease.

  1. Confirmation that there will be no hindrance to university life
  2. Understanding health conditions, determining whether there are any abnormalities, and whether medical treatment is necessary
  3. Understanding your own health status helps you maintain and improve your health throughout your life

Issuance of health certificate

There are no penalties for not undergoing a health examination, but if you are looking for a job, undergoing an internship, participating in various sports competitions, or studying abroad, you will need to submit a health certificate.
?The university cannot issue a health certificate unless you undergo a health check conducted by the university. You will need to undergo the health check at a medical institution at your own expense (approximately 5,000 to 10,000 yen).
Health certificates issued by the university cost 200 yen each and you can issue as many as you like.

The School Health and Safety Act requires that regular health checkups be conducted every year.
Be sure to have a health check-up once a year.

Student Regular Health Checkups (Published March 4, 2025)

In accordance with the School Health and Safety Act, our university conducts regular health checkups for current students at the Central Campus every year in early April. In order to understand your health condition and detect and prevent illness early, please make an effort to manage your health by taking a checkup every year during your time at university from enrollment until graduation.
The results of the regular student health checkup will be available to be issued in the form of a health checkup result notice (one free per year) and a health certificate (200 yen per certificate) at the automatic certificate issuing machine around mid-May. You may be required to submit these documents when participating in or completing procedures for various events on and off campus during your time at the university, so please remember to take the regular student health checkup as one of the events at the start of the academic year.

Precautions to take when visiting the clinic

  • Please be sure to bring your student ID and writing implements.
  • Please keep your valuables with you at all times.
  • Please allow yourself plenty of time when visiting the clinic.
  • On the day of the health check, you will be examined and undergo a chest X-ray, so please remove any accessories such as necklaces and prepare clothes that are easy to remove.
    Also, please wear a T-shirt, tank top, and thin underwear (without metal parts).
  • If you wear glasses or contact lenses, please bring them with you for your eyesight test.
  • Please avoid overeating or consuming excessive sugar (juice, etc.) before your health check.

Infection control and prevention measures

  • Consultation dates will be allocated by faculty, department, and year, so please visit on the allocated days in the table above. If these days are inconvenient, please visit on a convenient date and time that does not interfere with guidance sessions or classes. (The allocated dates will also be announced on the university website and portal system.)
  • Wearing a mask is recommended.
  • Alcohol disinfectant will be installed at several entrances and exits to the venue, so please disinfect your hands frequently.
  • To prevent overcrowding, we will limit the number of people and organize queues, so please follow the instructions of staff.
  • While you are receiving treatment or waiting to be seen, please refrain from private conversations, remain quiet, and follow the instructions of staff.
  • You will be required to fill out a "health checkup individual card" at the examination venue. Please be sure to bring your own writing utensils to take measures to prevent infection.
    Please refrain from lending or borrowing writing utensils.
  • If you have a fever (higher than normal body temperature), loss of taste or smell, or any other concerns about your health, please contact Health Service Center in advance.

  • Health certificates will be issued around mid-May to those who have undergone regular health checkups for the fiscal year 2025. Those who have not undergone a health checkup will not be issued a health certificate.
  • ?If the test results show any abnormalities, a health certificate will be issued stating the same.
  • The cost of undergoing a health examination at a medical institution will be borne by the individual.
