[1] Work experience program

Osaka Sangyo University is a member of the University Consortium Osaka, and students can participate in the "work experience program" run by the organization. The University Consortium Osaka's work experience program involves work experience for about 1-2 weeks (5-10 working days), mainly during the summer vacation. The work experience content is varied, including management, general affairs, sales, planning, and manufacturing, at companies, government agencies, and various organizations, and students are supported to deepen their learning and grow through the experience. It is also recommended for first- and second-year students before they start job hunting.

In this program, the application method and schedule are announced in late March, the participating companies are made public in late April, applications are accepted from mid to late May, and the internship takes place during the summer vacation period. There are training sessions before and after the internship to enhance your learning.

[3] Other programs that require application through a university (including government agencies)

Information on internships and open companies that can be applied for through the university's offices, such as government agencies, will be posted here from time to time. Information on internships and open companies for 2025 will be released as soon as it is received by the university.

[4] Program information received from government agencies etc. (for students to apply directly)

Please check the details at each of the links below and apply. The information for the 2025 program will be released as soon as it is received by the university.

[5] Program information received directly from companies to the university

Information on internships and open companies sent to the university by companies and organizations is posted on Career Box. Information on government agencies and other organizations that do not fall under [3] or [4] is also posted on Career Box.

[6] Programs open to the public

Many other companies also offer internships and open companies. Some companies allow students from the lower grades to participate, so first and second year students can also participate. Search on navigation sites for third year students (Mynavi, Rikunavi, etc.) or check the websites of companies that interest you, and then participate. It is also a good idea to attend internship job fairs. If you don't know how to search for companies, please consult Career Center.

[7] Business Internships for International Students

The Osaka Employment Service Center for Foreigners offers business internships for international students. Internships are offered by companies interested in hiring international students. Time: Summer (July to September) and Spring (February to March) Duration: Approximately 1 to 2 weeks (implementation days are 5 days or more) Accepting companies: Please check the website of the Employment Service Center for Foreigners.

If you wish to participate, please check the details on the website and submit the designated application form to the main building's Career Center by 17:00 four weeks before the desired start date of the internship. Although the Foreign Employment Service Center's website states three weeks in advance, the university will need to prepare additional paperwork after the student submits the application form to the university, so the deadline for students to submit the form to the university is four weeks in advance.

[8] What is an internship anyway?

If you feel the same way, please also refer to the "Useful Sites" section on Career Center website, under 4. "Study about Companies and Occupations" for internships (work experience).

[9] Internship insurance

Internship insurance is insurance that covers liability accidents that occur during internships or on the way to and from work (when you are legally liable for damages due to injuring others or damaging others' property). Some internships and open companies require you to join, so be sure to check.

Osaka Sangyo University students are covered by the Student Education and Research Accident Insurance, so they can enroll in the Internship Insurance (Gakkensai Supplementary Liability Insurance, Internship and Teaching Qualification Activities Liability Insurance (Intern Compensation)) for an annual premium of 210 yen. *Some students are not required to pay the insurance premium (application by the internship site is required).

The application process is handled at the Main Building Career Center (2nd floor of the Main Building). (It is not handled at the East Career Center.) Detailed information is also available at the Main Building Career Center.

Career Center Hours: Weekdays 9:00-17:00 *Closed during Obon and New Year's holidays Saturdays 9:00-12:30

【important】

  • To join, you will need to provide the name of the training location, the date and time of participation, and information about the training.
  • The insurance will start covering you from the day after you join, so please make sure to complete the enrollment procedure well in advance. (Accidents resulting from liability on the day of enrollment will not be covered.)
  • Once you pay the premium (210 yen), it will be valid until the end of that fiscal year. *However, compensation only covers liability accidents during training that are entered into the application form when joining. If you add a training site after joining, please apply for an additional training site to Career Center by the day before the training date each time. (If additional dates are added to the same training site, an additional application is required.) If you apply after the fact, you will not be compensated.
  • If your internship takes place over two academic years, you will need to enroll for both years.
  • Students in Department of Sport and Health Sciences are covered by the "Student Education and Research Liability Insurance (Gakkenbai)" so no additional insurance premiums are required (excluding those who are not covered). Please apply for an additional internship site to Career Center by the day before the internship date. (Any liability accidents during internships that have not been applied for in advance will not be covered.)
  • Students enrolled in the teacher training course who have already signed up for the "Internship/Teacher Qualification Activity Liability Insurance (Intern Compensation)" this year do not need to pay additional insurance premiums (excluding those who have not paid). Please apply for an additional internship site to Career Center by the day before the internship date. (In the case of an accident involving liability during an internship for which no prior application has been made, compensation will not be provided.)
  • No insurance policy will be issued for this insurance. Please keep the "Insurance Policy Booklet" provided to you when you enroll.
  • If your internship site requests you to submit a certificate of membership, please contact Career Center. It will take about one week to issue the certificate. *In some cases, a copy of the receipt from the enrollment procedure may be acceptable, so if you are in a hurry, please check with your internship site.
